Crumbs Bakery Treats no Tricks

I was mighty popular at the Totsy offices this week.  I brought in a six-pack of cupcakes from CRUMBS in Union Square back to the office for a taste test.  It's a rough job but somebody has to do it.
My sample had a bit of a Halloween feel to it, but this is a spot to visit any time of the year. The verdict: Sinfully delicious.  The tiny bakery (the one by NYU 37 East 8th St has seating this is to-go only; 124 University Place ) was fully stocked with delights.  I had trouble picking.  Normally I would opt for the smaller cakes, but as CRUMBS was treating I went for the mongo "signature" size (do not ask me how many calories are in each...I do not want to know).

For a family, I would suggest splitting one or two or getting the "taste" variety pack--it is too hard to whittle your choice down to just one cupcake.  From my informal taste test--I couldn't get enough of the carrot cupcake and my office mates were smitten with the cookie dough cupcake. Parents take note: this is NOT nut-free and they do not offer gluten-free or vegan options.
