Macy's Flower Show in NYC

Head to the Macy’s Flower Show at the flagship Herald Square store to see and sniff over 30,000 varieties of fragrant flowers and exotic plants, from six continents. This year's show features 10 different garden environments, including palms, topiary gardens, and over 30,000 different varieties of exotic trees.

Autism Awareness Event

The numbers are staggering: Autism spectrum disorders are diagnosed in one in 110 children in the United States. In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Holly Robinson Peete, Rodney Peete and their daughter Ryan Elizabeth Peete will host a celeb book reading as well as autographing purchased copies of their two new books, My Brother Charlie (Scholastic) and Not My Boy! (Hyperion) at Toys“R”Us Times Square. This is a great way to put a face on Autism and help support the cause.

Jacob Burns Film Center Family Getaway

Got a tight budget this spring but still want to get away from NYC? Consider a film-buffs weekend. The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester offers Saturday and Sunday outings to the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville for “Movies for Kids” a light-hearted movie series that presents classic family films. In April the theme is cats, featuring films such as The Three Lives of Thomasina, Puss in Boots and Disney’s That Darn Cat--all perfect for ages 4-9.

Cherry Blossom Time in Brooklyn

Think pink! With a little bit of sunshine the Brooklyn Botanic Garden should be in full cherry blossom bloom very soon. Official Hanami season runs from April 3 to May 2.  Hanami is the Japanese cultural tradition of viewing and cherishing the cherry blossom season.
